VHS in Bed

Today was a great day. I woke up around 8:00 (sleeping in practically), showered with a breeze chasing through my bathroom, then took off for my 10 minute walk to work. It was really hot on the way there, I knew it would be a crazy day when I started to sweat at 9am. A "blah" day at work... but I can't complain, I was able to have a lunch break with Reid. During work I found out about the local fires near Seascape, and how my store manager's house was in danger, as well as another manager at work. That was weighing pretty heavy on me until I had to walk home in 100 degree weather (thats not a joke), staring ahead at the billows of smoke ahead of me in the sky. As my heart sank, I thought of what I could do to avoid sitting around the heat all day, thinking about the burning homes. I thought about how amazing the cold ocean sounded. That was in the cards until Reid and I decided to pick up some food and cook at home. Following dinner we watched a bit of Seinfeld, did the dishes as Katie made an ice cream sandwich cake, then decided to rest up as the evening cooled off. Ended the day with a good ol' VHS (Return to Me) upstairs. I have to say that I could definitely get used to this summer life.
